General
This machine is used to carry out hydrostatic test
for SAW steel pipe. It concurrently detects
manufacturing flaws and eliminates internal residual
stress arises during steel pipe forming process. End
Platens embedded with polyurethane sealing rings.
The pipe is pressurized by water and hold for a
specified time before de-pressurizing.

Main
components and functions
a) Tension beam

Four tension beams are provided as per the required
end load, two at the top and two at the bottom. The
beams are used to resist the opposing force arises
due to the high pressured water in the testing pipe
during the testing process. Locking pins are
provided at 300mm increments in the beams near the
moveable tail stock for locking the moveable tail
stock at any required length of the pipe. Supporting
reinforcement beams are welded to the 2 upper
Tension beam to prevent buckling during discharging
of high pressured water.

b) Structure Framework
It consists of a fixed head stock, moveable tail
stock, tension beams, a rear support and a base. The
head and tail stocks are two rigidly built box-like
structure with reinforcement wedges inside. The rear
support is situated behind the tail stock where one
end of the tension beam is rested. The weight of
head and tail stock is about 30 metric ton each.
This is to ensure stability during pressure testing. |
